New Duckwyn Destination: Wright Brothers Memorial
The Wright Brothers successfully launched the first sustained, powered flight at Kill Devil Hill in North Carolina. Today, a 60 foot granite monument sits on this site dedicated to their achievement. The National Memorial has a recreation of the world’s first airplane hangers, the brothers’ living quarters, and a please-touch sculpture representing their first flight. It’s a great place to visit with the kids while you explore the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
