Our Story
We’re a family of four who loves to travel. When we started taking our kids to historic sites and landmarks around the world, we noticed something: the information at these places was almost always written for adults.
The signs (if they existed) used language kids couldn’t understand. The context assumed knowledge that only adults had. Our kids were standing in incredible places but missing the stories that made them incredible.
So We Built Something
DuckAbroad started as a simple idea: what if we could give families a tool that made travel educational and fun for kids? What if visiting a castle or a national park came with kid-friendly history, trivia questions, and collectible stamps that made the experience feel like an adventure?
That idea became Duckwyn — named after our son’s stuffed duck who travels everywhere with us. Duckwyn is now a travel passport app that families around the world use to track their adventures, learn about the places they visit, and build lasting memories together.
What We Believe
Travel is the best classroom. Standing where history happened changes how kids understand the world. And when learning feels like a game — with stamps to collect, trivia to answer, and stickers to earn — kids actually want to pay attention.
We’re still a family-run project, and every destination in the app reflects the same care we’d put into planning a trip for our own kids.
Meet Duckwyn
Duckwyn is our mascot — a well-traveled duck who loves history, geography, and collecting stamps. You’ll find Duckwyn throughout the app, guiding families through destinations and making learning feel like an adventure.
